Changelog: 2026-10-03T00:00:00.000Z — First publication. 35 tools, 12 reviewed in depth. Prices and features as published by each vendor on 3 October 2026; no vendor was contacted before publication.

---
AI visibility tools look alike on their landing pages and differ sharply underneath: which engines they query, whether they capture the consumer interface or call an API, how many metrics they document and whether they help you act. Of the 35 we read on 3 October 2026, all 35 document ChatGPT and 30 Google AI Mode, while 12 document accuracy flags; 11 capture the consumer interface, 3 use official APIs and 10 do not say how.

Tracking 50 prompts on ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews weekly costs $50 to $599 a month on the 17 tools with a flat price for it (median $129). At enterprise scale, none of the 35 publishes a price.

<Callout type="key" title="Key takeaways (3 October 2026)">

- **17 of 35** AI visibility tools publish a flat-priced plan for 50 prompts on ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews checked weekly, from **$50 to $599 a month** (median **$129**).
- **0 of 35** publish a price for 500 prompts on 8 engines checked daily in 3 countries: 16 send that buyer to sales and 19 have no plan that covers it.
- **11 tools** say they capture the consumer interface, **11** mix methods, **3** use official APIs and **10** do not disclose how they collect answers.
- Coverage thins out beyond the big engines: **35** tools document ChatGPT and **34** Perplexity, but **19** document Microsoft Copilot, **15** Grok and **9** Meta AI. **2** document EU data residency.
- The lowest published rate per 1,000 answer checks runs from **$1.41 to $102.68** across 23 tools (ZipTie's estimate excluded), a **73-fold** spread.

## Which AI visibility tool fits which need?

Each pick names one tool and the documented reason it fits; none is a verdict on quality, which we did not measure. Prices are list prices as of 3 October 2026, monthly billing, in USD.

**Under $100 a month: [SE Visible](#se-visible-a-99-plan-that-covers-both-small-setups).** Basic, from $99, checks 200 prompts daily on five engines; it is the only plan under $100 in the dataset that covers both scenarios S and M.

**Agencies: [Peec AI](#peec-ai-three-engines-you-choose-plus-paid-slots).** It documents multi-client workspaces and white-label reports; agency plans start at $245 for 10,000 credits, one credit being one prompt on one model on one day.

**Enterprise and compliance: [Conductor](#conductor-official-apis-inside-an-enterprise-seo-suite).** It documents SSO, SOC 2 and ISO 27001, says it collects answers through official APIs, and offers a 21-day trial without a card; it publishes no list price.

**Already on an SEO suite: use the module you pay for, then check its engine list.** [Ahrefs Brand Radar](#ahrefs-brand-radar-a-prompt-index-plus-check-based-tracking) sells custom prompt tracking from $50 a month on seven engines. The [Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit](#semrush-ai-visibility-toolkit-a-prompt-database-plus-daily-tracking-of-your-own-prompts) ($99 a month per domain) tracks your own prompts on three engines: ChatGPT Search, Google AI Mode and Gemini (its help pages disagree on AI Overviews).

**Monitoring plus optimisation: [AthenaHQ](#athenahq-credits-ten-engines-and-an-action-layer).** It documents all four action-layer capabilities — recommendations, content generation, technical audits and outreach — and tracks ten engines on its $295 Starter plan.

**Google AI Mode and AI Overviews: [Ahrefs Brand Radar](#ahrefs-brand-radar-a-prompt-index-plus-check-based-tracking).** Its $50 custom-prompt package covers both Google surfaces.

**Do it yourself: start with the free first-party reports.** Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools report your own site's appearances in AI features at no cost. A grounded API tracker like ours costs about $8 to $13 a month for 150 answer checks, [modelled, not billed](#should-you-build-your-own-tracker-instead).

## The comparison table: 35 tools on seven dimensions

Overview shows one summary column per dimension; the other views show each capability. Sorting, filters and the cost calculator run in your browser, and with JavaScript off every value is still in the table. The **ⓘ** button in each row opens that tool's sources, the date we read them and the confidence of each dimension.

## What do AI visibility tools measure?

An AI visibility tool sends a fixed set of prompts to AI answer engines on a schedule and records what comes back. The unit we convert every price into is the **answer check**: one prompt, answered by one engine, once. The metric names are used loosely, so it pays to define them.

**Mentions** count answers that name your brand; **citations** count answers that link to your pages, URL by URL. All 35 tools document both. **[Share of voice](/glossary/share-of-voice)** is your share of mentions or citations against named competitors; all 35 document it, but each computes it over its own prompts and engines, so figures are not comparable across tools. Position (where in the answer you appear) is documented by 28 tools and sentiment by 32.

The thinner metrics are where products differ. Accuracy or hallucination flags — answers that state wrong facts about the brand — are documented by 12 of 35, AI-crawler log analytics by 16 and AI referral attribution by 18. The **[citation rate](/glossary/citation-rate)**, the share of answers that cite you at all, is the number our own tracker publishes on [the Lab](/lab).

The category goes by several names — [GEO](/glossary/geo), [AEO](/glossary/aeo), [LLMO](/glossary/llmo), AI SEO — for overlapping practices, as our [comparison of the terms](/foundations/geo-vs-aeo-vs-llmo-vs-sge) explains; [what GEO is](/foundations/what-is-geo) covers the practice itself.

## The seven differences that matter

We compared every tool on seven dimensions. Five are made of documented capabilities, 40 in all; the sixth is how answers are collected, and the seventh is price. Figure 1 shows the 40 capabilities for all 35 tools. A filled square means the vendor documents it, a crossed square means the vendor's own page shows it absent, and a dashed outline means the vendor's pages say nothing — which is not the same as no.

<CapabilityMatrix />

## Difference 1: which engines are documented

ChatGPT is documented by all 35 tools, Gemini and Perplexity by 34, Google AI Overviews by 33 and Google AI Mode by 30. Below that, coverage falls away. Claude is documented by 26, Microsoft Copilot by 19, Grok by 15, DeepSeek by 14 and Meta AI by 9. Five tools document all ten engines: AthenaHQ, Goodie, LLMrefs, Rankscale and Writesonic. Peec AI lists a Meta model, "Meta Spark", reached through an API, which we do not count as Meta AI.

"Documented" includes add-ons and enterprise tiers: Scrunch's $250 Core plan runs on four engines and its Enterprise tier on nine, and Peec AI's Starter on three engines you choose.

The surface matters as much as the name: for ChatGPT, 14 tools say they read the consumer interface, 4 use the API, 5 use both and 12 do not say. Thirty tools let you set a country, 25 a language and 14 a buyer persona.

## Difference 2: how the answers are collected

Figure 2 shows the split: 11 tools say they capture the consumer interface, 11 mix methods, 3 use official APIs and 10 do not disclose a method. The two positions are stated plainly by the vendors themselves. Profound writes: "We capture directly from the browser." Conductor writes: "We use official APIs provided by the AI search engines we support [...]"

<MethodBreakdown />

This is one reason two tools report different numbers for the same brand. An API call is not the consumer app, which adds web search, location and account state; a logged-out session in one country sees different answers from a logged-in one in another. Sampling differs too: Evertune says it samples every prompt 100 times per model, while most vendors do not say how many answers each run samples (Mangools says two). And each tool asks its own prompts, so two different share-of-voice figures can both be correct.

Brandlight's June 2026 study argues that API monitoring is a proxy for what buyers see; Conductor argues that APIs give "more accurate, scalable, and richer data". We did not test which is closer to what users see; that is a job for a separate accuracy benchmark.

## Difference 3: how deep the metrics go

Mentions, citations and share of voice are documented by all 35 tools, prompt discovery by 34 and sentiment by 32. Seven document all nine metrics: Goodie, Peec AI, Profound, Scrunch, Searchable, seoClarity ArcAI and Trakkr.

The gaps sit in three places. Accuracy flags are documented by 12 tools and not mentioned by the other 23. AI-crawler log analytics are documented by 16; 2 vendors say they do not offer them and 17 say nothing. AI referral attribution is documented by 18, with 17 silent.

A dashboard without accuracy flags answers a different question from one with them.

## Difference 4: whether the tool helps you act

The action layer is what a tool does after it measures. Recommendations are documented by 31 tools, technical audits (structured data, `llms.txt`, crawlability) by 28, content generation by 26 and citation or outreach workflows by 24. Fifteen tools document all four.

Two tools document fewer than two: Authoritas (none) and LLMrefs (one); in both cases the pages are silent rather than saying no. Monitoring-first products leave the work to your team; a full action layer puts content and outreach tools in the same subscription.

## Difference 5: getting the data out

An API is documented by 27 tools (2 say no) and an MCP server — the Model Context Protocol, which lets AI assistants query the data — also by 27. CSV export is documented by 23 and a Looker Studio connector by 17. Slack alerts are documented by 10 and email alerts by 12.

Warehouse or BigQuery export is documented by 2 tools: Authoritas and Trakkr. Otterly.AI and Scrunch describe loading their API data into a warehouse, which we do not count as an export. If your team reports from a data warehouse, that one capability narrows the field more than any other data-access option.

## Difference 6: compliance and business fit

A GDPR statement is documented by 33 tools and agency multi-client workspaces by 30. SSO is documented by 25 and SOC 2 by 16, with 4 vendors saying they do not have it. White-label reports are documented by 14.

Two items are rare. ISO 27001 is documented by 3 tools: Ahrefs Brand Radar, BrightEdge AI Catalyst and Conductor. EU data residency is documented by 2, HubSpot AEO and Searchable; 10 vendors say they do not offer it and 23 say nothing.

## Difference 7: price, and the unit it is counted in

Seven of 35 tools publish no list price. By pricing model, the 35 use incompatible units: 16 price per prompt, 6 in credits (Conductor's without a list price), 5 as suite bundles, 1 per check and 7 by custom quote (Profound among them, whose only published price is its agency route). Whether one prompt is charged once per engine is stated as yes by 11 vendors, no by 11 and not stated by 13. Whether it is charged once per country is stated as yes by 14 and not stated by 21.

Four tools have a free plan (AthenaHQ, Authoritas, Mangools and Semrush, whose free account has no custom prompt tracking); 25 offer a free trial, 10 without a card.

## Native platforms or suite modules — and monitor-only or optimise?

The 35 tools split into 19 native platforms, built only for AI visibility, and 16 modules of SEO or marketing suites. The native platforms document more engines (median 8 against 5) and more often publish a plan that covers our small scenario (11 of 19 against 6 of 16 at a flat list price; 13 of 19 counting ZipTie's estimate and Profound's agency route). The suite modules more often sell only through sales (5 against 2) and more often leave the collection method undisclosed (8 against 2). A suite module puts AI visibility next to tools you already pay for; a native platform usually documents more engines.

The second split is between monitoring and optimisation. Fifteen of the 35 tools document the whole action layer, five of them among the twelve reviewed here: AthenaHQ, Brandlight, Peec AI, Profound and the SE Ranking AI Search Toolkit. A monitor-only tool is cheaper to justify and easier to replace; an optimising one asks you to do the work inside it.

## What does AI visibility tracking cost?

Vendors sell different units, so we converted every published plan into **answer checks per month**:

> checks per month = prompts × engines × runs per month (daily = 30.4, weekly = 4.35, monthly = 1)

When a vendor already counts a prompt per engine, or sells credits that each buy one answer, we used its unit. **Cost per 1,000 checks** is the monthly price divided by checks per month, times 1,000. EUR and GBP were converted at the ECB reference rate of 2 October 2026 (EUR 1 = USD 1.1225, GBP 0.85033). We then priced three standard setups on each tool's published plans and add-ons:

- **S — solo or small business:** 50 prompts × ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews × weekly.
- **M — in-house team:** 150 prompts × ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Overviews and AI Mode × daily.
- **L — enterprise or agency:** 500 prompts × those five plus Claude, Copilot and Grok × daily × 3 countries.

M and L use the five and eight engines most often documented across the 35 tools. L is enterprise scale by construction, so the result that no tool prices it is itself the finding: at that size every buyer negotiates.

Each cell gets one status. **Fits**: a published plan covers the setup, at the cost shown. **Sales quote**: no published plan covers it, but a sales-quoted tier exists. **Not supported**: no plan covers it, for example because the vendor says it does not track a required engine. **n/a**: the published terms do not allow the calculation; the reason is recorded.

### Scenario S: 50 prompts, 3 engines, weekly

| Tool | Cheapest fitting plan | USD/month, monthly billing | USD/month, annual billing |
|---|---|---|---|
| ZipTie (estimate) | Configurator: 50 weekly prompts on 3 engines | $6.10 | $4.88 |
| Ahrefs Brand Radar | Custom prompts Basic (annual: Lite + package¹) | $50 | $159.57 |
| LLMrefs | All in One | $79 | Not supported |
| Surfer AI Tracker | AI Search Analytics 50 | $95 | $82 |
| Rankscale | Pro | $99 | $84 |
| SE Visible | Basic | $99 | $79 |
| Trakkr | Growth | $100 | $83.33 |
| Authoritas AI Search | AI Search P1 | $119 | $109.08 |
| Searchable | Pro | $125 | $100 |
| Frase AI Visibility | Professional | $129 | $103 |
| Peec AI | Starter + 1 model slot | $130 | $110 |
| SISTRIX AI Visibility | Start | $133.58 | $111.13 |
| Otterly.AI | Standard | $189 | $160 |
| Nightwatch AI Tracking | Professional | $223.38 | $178.48 |
| AthenaHQ | Starter | $295 | $245 |
| Goodie | Core | $478.80 | $399 |
| Profound (agency route) | Agency Growth + 1 Client Workspace | $498 | Sales quote |
| Scrunch | Agency Core | $500 | Sales quote |
| Gauge | Growth | $599 | Sales quote |

Of the other 16 tools, 12 are a sales quote, 3 are not supported (HubSpot AEO and Moz Pro AI Visibility do not track AI Overviews; Mangools does not track Perplexity) and the SE Ranking AI Search Toolkit is n/a, because its plans include a check allowance it does not publish.

### Scenario M: 150 prompts, 5 engines, daily

| Tool | Cheapest fitting plan | USD/month, monthly billing | USD/month, annual billing |
|---|---|---|---|
| SE Visible | Basic | $99 | $79 |
| ZipTie (estimate) | Configurator: 150 daily prompts on 5 engines | $202.50 | $162 |
| Ahrefs Brand Radar | Custom prompts Scale (annual: Lite + package¹) | $250 | $359.57 |
| Surfer AI Tracker | AI Search Analytics 200 | $365 | $308 |
| Searchable | Launch (agencies) + Gemini and AI Mode add-ons | $400 | $350 |
| Otterly.AI | Standard + 2 engine add-ons + 100 prompts | $406 | $346.67 |
| Peec AI | Pro + 2 model slots | $415 | $345 |
| Gauge | Growth | $599 | Sales quote |
| Rankscale | Enterprise | $780 | $663 |
| Authoritas AI Search | AI Search P3 + 8 credit top-ups | $891 | $816.75 |

¹ Ahrefs publishes no annual price for its check packages, so the annual route is an Ahrefs Lite subscription billed annually plus the monthly package.

For scenario L, 16 tools offer a sales-quoted route and 19 have no plan that covers it, most often because the vendor says it does not track Grok, Claude or Copilot.

### The largest self-serve plan each vendor publishes

Because nobody prices scenario L, the biggest self-serve plan is the nearest published reference. Searchable ($999 Enterprise), Goodie ($1,198.80 Pro) and Ahrefs (£1,199 Enterprise) also publish higher, sales-assisted prices.

| Tool | Largest self-serve plan | USD/month | Answer checks/month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Authoritas AI Search | AI Search Enterprise 3 | $3,199 | 125,000 |
| ZipTie (estimate) | Enterprise preset (7 engines, mixed cadence) | $3,137.09 | 202,300 |
| Peec AI | Agency Scale (85,000 credits) | $1,195 | 85,000 |

| Scrunch | Agency Core | $500 | 10,000 |
| Trakkr | Scale | $500 | 121,600 |
| Writesonic GEO platform | Growth | $499 | 18,240 |
| Profound (agency route) | Agency Growth + 1 Client Workspace | $498 | n/a |
| Otterly.AI | Premium | $489 | 48,640 |
| Goodie | Core | $478.80 | 18,240 |
| Searchable | Scale | $400 | 45,600 |
| Surfer AI Tracker | AI Search Analytics 200 | $365 | 30,400 |
| SE Visible | Plus | $355 | 152,000 |
| Frase AI Visibility | Scale | $299 | 76,000 |
| Gumshoe | Pro | $299 | 2,912 |

| LLMrefs | All in One | $79 | 21,750 |

² £444.85 as displayed, converted at the ECB rate; Semrush displayed no USD price for this tier. ³ 3,600 credits are 3,600 answer checks only on one-credit engines; on the five-credit engines (Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI, Mistral) they are 720.

Seven tools publish no priced plan at all: Bluefish, Brandlight, BrightEdge AI Catalyst, Conductor, Semrush Enterprise AIO, seoClarity ArcAI and Yext Scout.

<CostPer1kChart />

What the numbers say, in five sentences:

Seventeen tools publish a flat price for scenario S, from $50 to $599 a month.

The same 150-prompt, five-engine daily setup costs $99 on SE Visible and $891 on Authoritas AI Search.

The lowest published rate per 1,000 answer checks is $1.41 on Mangools AI Search Watcher Pro and $102.68 on Gumshoe Pro.

Counting rules move prices: Scrunch's billing articles count a prompt once per platform (its glossary reads otherwise); on the billing-article rule, scenario S needs 150 of Core's 125 slots and moves from the $250 Core plan to the $500 Agency Core plan.

ZipTie's configurator estimates and Profound's $498 agency route, whose availability to a single brand is not stated, are left out of every range and median.

## The 12 tools, reviewed

We reviewed ten tools chosen by a disclosed presence rubric (roundup appearances, mentions in AI answers and review volume) under portfolio rules (two enterprise picks, Brandlight and Conductor, replaced the higher-scoring Writesonic and HubSpot AEO), plus the lowest scenario S estimate (ZipTie, from its public configurator) and the cheapest published fit for scenario M (SE Visible). The order below is not a ranking. Every review uses the same template, and every product fact comes from the vendor's pages as captured on 3 October 2026; corporate events are sourced where they appear.

### Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit: a prompt database plus daily tracking of your own prompts

The Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit is the AI-search module of the Semrush suite (Adobe completed its acquisition of Semrush on 28 April 2026), combining a database of more than 317 million prompts with daily tracking of your own.

**Best for** teams already on Semrush that want AI visibility next to a database of more than 317 million prompts. **Not for** buyers who need their own prompts tracked on Perplexity, Claude or Copilot, or AI Overviews prompt tracking confirmed in writing (Semrush's pages disagree).

**Coverage.** Your prompts run daily on ChatGPT Search, Google AI Mode or Gemini, one engine per tracking target. Perplexity appears only in weekly Brand Performance reports built on Semrush's own prompts; Semrush's pages disagree on whether AI Overviews can be tracked this way. Its comparison grid shows Claude, Copilot, Grok and DeepSeek absent. Country and language can be set.

**Method.** For its prompt database, "Prompt responses are captured from real requests and not via any APIs of LLMs" ([KB 1607](https://www.semrush.com/kb/1607-semrush-ai-visibility-data)). How Prompt Tracking and Brand Performance answers are collected is not stated.

**Metrics and actions.** 7 of 9 metrics (Semrush says it does not analyse AI-crawler logs; accuracy flags not documented) and 3 of 4 action-layer capabilities (content generation not documented).

**Data access and compliance.** CSV export is documented; the grid shows no API for AI Visibility. SSO and white-label reports (through the $20-a-month Pro Report add-on) are documented. Semrush says the toolkit is "designed for monitoring one or a few domains" and its grid shows no multi-brand domains, so each client domain is another $99 a month. Semrush stores service data in US data centres, and SOC 2 is not mentioned.

**Pricing (checked 3 October 2026).** The toolkit costs $99 a month per domain for 25 prompts, with no trial; Semrush One starts at $199 a month for 50 prompts, with a 7-day trial that needs a card. Higher tiers were shown only in GBP. No self-serve plan covers scenario S or M: Perplexity is not a Prompt Tracking engine, and because Semrush's pages disagree on AI Overviews we did not count it; Semrush for Enterprise is sales-quoted. Higher tiers convert from GBP at the ECB rate; Semrush displayed no USD price for them.

**What we could not verify:** how a prompt is counted across engines and locations (we applied Semrush's per-target rule for keywords).

**Closest alternative here:** Ahrefs Brand Radar, the other suite module with a large prompt index; its custom prompts are priced in checks and run on seven engines.

### Profound: browser capture, enterprise contracts and an agency route

Profound is a standalone AI-visibility and AI-marketing platform that captures answers from each engine's consumer front end.

**Best for** enterprise brand teams that want consumer-interface answers on up to nine engines, prompt-volume data and content agents. **Not for** single brands that need a published monthly price.

**Coverage.** The Enterprise grid lists ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, AI Overviews and Exa Search; an agency client workspace covers ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews. Grok appears in Profound's feature-page FAQ but not in its pricing grid, and Meta AI, announced for Enterprise in July 2025, is in neither current list; we count neither as documented. Country, language and persona can be set.

**Method.** "We capture directly from the browser—what you see in Profound is what your customers see when they query AI."

**Metrics and actions.** All 9 metrics and all 4 action-layer capabilities.

**Data access and compliance.** API, CSV, Slack and MCP are documented, as are SSO and SOC 2; Looker Studio, warehouse export, ISO 27001 and EU residency are not.

**Pricing (checked 3 October 2026).** Brands see a free 7-day trial (50 prompts daily on ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews) or custom-priced Enterprise. Agencies pay $99 a month plus $399 per client workspace (100 prompts, daily): $498 to track one brand. A [Wayback Machine copy of 31 August 2026](https://web.archive.org/web/20260831100249/https://www.tryprofound.com/pricing) lists brand Starter ($99) and Growth ($399) plans; the page read on 3 October lists neither.

**What we could not verify:** whether a single brand may buy the agency plan, which is why its $498 is excluded from our aggregates, and any Enterprise price.

**Closest alternative here:** Brandlight, also enterprise-first and interface-based, sold through a paid pilot with a managed service.

### Otterly.AI: a $29 entry and engines as add-ons

Otterly.AI is a bootstrapped Austrian tracker that starts at $29 a month and runs your prompts daily, mostly through the engines' public web interfaces.

**Best for** solo marketers and small teams that want to start small and add engines later. **Not for** buyers who need white-label reports or SOC 2, which Otterly.AI says it does not offer, or full EU data residency: it hosts in Frankfurt but stores public monitoring data in the US.

**Coverage.** ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot are included. Google AI Mode and Gemini are add-ons ($9, $59 or $149 a month depending on the plan), and so is Claude ($29, $109 or $439). Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI are not on Otterly.AI's list of supported engines. A prompt counts once per country.

**Method.** "Our data aggregation system interacts with AI search platforms programmatically, posting questions and prompts through the website of the AI search (like chatgpt.com etc) [...] *please note that we only use API for Claude tracking."

**Metrics and actions.** 8 of 9 metrics (accuracy flags not documented) and 3 of 4 action-layer capabilities (content generation not documented).

**Data access and compliance.** API, Looker Studio and MCP are documented from Standard; CSV exports are on every plan, Lite included.

**Pricing (checked 3 October 2026).** Lite costs $29 (15 prompts), Standard $189 (100) and Premium $489 (400); annual billing is advertised as 15% off (about 14% on Lite and Premium), and a 7-day trial needs no card. Scenario S fits Standard at $189; M costs $406 with two engine add-ons and a 100-prompt pack.

**What we could not verify:** which engines run during the trial, and how many answers are sampled per prompt each day.

**Closest alternative here:** Peec AI, a European self-serve tracker that puts AI Mode and Gemini in its engine slots.

### Peec AI: three engines you choose, plus paid slots

Peec AI is a Berlin-based tracker that runs each prompt daily on three engines you choose from a pool, sells extra engines as paid slots, and has separate credit-based plans for agencies.

**Best for** in-house teams and agencies that want daily tracking and all four action-layer capabilities, on plans from $95 to $495 a month. **Not for** buyers who need SOC 2 or ISO 27001 documented up front.

**Coverage.** Brand plans choose three of ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, Copilot and Gemini (or Naver AI); Perplexity is a paid add-on. Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Qwen, Mistral and a Meta model listed as "Meta Spark" run via APIs on Enterprise and Agency Scale. Country and language can be set; prompts can be tagged by persona, but personas are not simulated in the tracked runs.

**Method.** "Peec AI uses UI scraping technology to interact with AI platforms exactly as real users do." The pricing grid marks seven enterprise models as API, so the method is mixed.

**Metrics and actions.** All 9 metrics and all 4 action-layer capabilities.

**Data access and compliance.** API, CSV, Looker Studio, MCP, multi-client workspaces and white-label are documented; SOC 2, ISO 27001 and EU residency are not.

**Pricing (checked 3 October 2026).** Outside Europe, Starter costs $95 a month (50 prompts), Pro $245 (150) and Advanced $495 (350); European visitors see €85, €205 and €425. An extra engine slot costs $35 to $165 a month. Agency plans run from $245 (10,000 credits) to $1,195 (85,000). Scenario S costs $130 and M $415.

**What we could not verify:** trial length, and which plans include API access (the grid says Pro, the docs say Enterprise).

**Closest alternative here:** Otterly.AI: lower entry price, Perplexity in every plan, fewer documented actions.

### Ahrefs Brand Radar: a prompt index plus check-based tracking

Ahrefs Brand Radar pairs an index of more than 449 million search-derived prompts with tracking of your own prompts, priced in checks, and Ahrefs now sells it standalone with a free Ahrefs account.

**Best for** SEO and content teams that want AI visibility next to search and backlink data. **Not for** buyers who need sentiment or position metrics, which are not documented, or a free trial (Ahrefs' pricing FAQ offers none; it points to the limited Ahrefs Free account).

**Coverage.** Custom prompts run on ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot through their free public web interfaces, without stored user data or prior context, and on Claude through the API; Grok is marked as unable to collect new data. A country can be set; persona cannot.

**Method.** "All prompts run through the free, publicly available web interfaces of ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, and other supported platforms to reflect typical user experiences" ([methodology](https://ahrefs.com/blog/brand-radar-methodology/)).

**Metrics and actions.** 6 of 9 metrics (position, sentiment and accuracy flags not documented) and 2 of 4 action-layer capabilities (recommendations and outreach not documented).

**Data access and compliance.** API, CSV, Looker Studio, MCP, SSO, SOC 2 and ISO 27001 are documented; Ahrefs' privacy policy says personal data is transferred to and stored in the United States, and no EU-residency option is documented.

**Pricing (checked 3 October 2026).** Custom prompts cost $50 for 2,500 checks, $100 for 7,000 or $250 for 25,000 a month (one prompt, one engine, one location; a Claude update uses 8). The index costs $199 a month per platform or $699 for all. Scenario S costs $50 and M $250.

**What we could not verify:** how many countries and languages custom prompts support, and annual prices for the check packages.

**Closest alternative here:** the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit, the other suite module with a large prompt index; it is priced per prompt and tracks your own prompts daily on ChatGPT Search, Google AI Mode and Gemini.

### Scrunch: nine engines on Enterprise and an optimisation layer

Scrunch, part of Sitecore since a [3 June 2026 acquisition](https://www.sitecore.com/company/newsroom/press-releases/2026/06/sitecore-acquires-scrunch-to-help-brands-influence-discovery--and-buying-decisions), tracks up to nine platforms and adds site audits, content tools, AI-bot traffic logs and AXP, its delivery of AI-optimised pages.

**Best for** brands and agencies that want monitoring and optimisation in one product, with API access on Enterprise. **Not for** buyers who need Gemini or AI Mode on a self-serve plan.

**Coverage.** Core and Agency Core run on ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews and Copilot. Enterprise adds Claude, Gemini, Meta AI, AI Mode and Grok. DeepSeek is not among the nine platforms Scrunch says it supports. Country, language and persona can be set.

**Method.** "Scrunch uses multiple methodologies to collect data from AI platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and others, including browser automation and official platform APIs." Which engines use which method is not disclosed.

**Metrics and actions.** All 9 metrics and 3 of 4 action-layer capabilities (outreach not documented).

**Data access and compliance.** API, CSV, Looker Studio and MCP are documented, as are SSO and SOC 2. Warehouse loading is described through the API and Slack through Zapier, which we do not count as native options; ISO 27001 and EU residency are not documented.

**Pricing (checked 3 October 2026).** Core costs $250 a month (125 prompts, collected daily for the first two weeks and every 72 hours after that, one country) and Agency Core $500 (250 prompts); a 7-day trial needs a card. Scrunch's billing articles count a prompt once per platform; on that rule scenario S needs Agency Core at $500, and on the glossary's reading Core at $250 would cover it. Scenario M needs Enterprise, which is sales-quoted.

**What we could not verify:** whether "unique prompts" count once per platform (billing articles say yes, the glossary reads otherwise), and whether Enterprise engines can be added to Core.

**Closest alternative here:** AthenaHQ, with all ten engines on one priced self-serve plan.

### SE Ranking AI Search Toolkit: AI tracking inside an SEO suite

SE Ranking's AI Search Toolkit is the AI module inside SE Ranking's "SEO + GEO" plans, tracking your prompts in Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity next to rank tracking and audits.

**Best for** SEO teams and agencies already in SE Ranking that want AI tracking with all four action-layer capabilities and white-label reports. **Not for** buyers who need Claude or Copilot, which SE Ranking says it does not track, or a published check allowance.

**Coverage.** Five engines on every plan; country and language can be set.

**Method.** "SE Ranking's AI Search Toolkit retrieves results through direct UI-based monitoring. It sends queries to AI platforms and captures the responses as a real user would see them." SE Ranking's terms of service define the AI Search Toolkit as including SE Visible, and say SE Visible "operates through an external aggregator service (currently OpenRouter [...])"; we found no page that explains how the two descriptions relate.

**Metrics and actions.** 6 of 9 metrics (accuracy flags, AI-crawler logs and AI referral traffic not documented) and all 4 action-layer capabilities.

**Data access and compliance.** API, CSV, Looker Studio and MCP are documented; SSO, SOC 2, ISO 27001 and EU residency are not.

**Pricing (checked 3 October 2026).** Shown in GBP: Core costs £95 a month (about $125 at the ECB rate) with 100 daily prompts, Growth £209 with 250. An AI Search add-on adds 200, 450 or 1,000 checks a month for $89, $179 or $345 in the help centre; the pricing page sells the 200 package as prompts, at £69. A 14-day trial needs no card. Scenarios S and M are n/a: each plan includes a monthly check allowance SE Ranking does not publish.

**What we could not verify:** that allowance, USD prices, and how a prompt in several countries is counted.

**Closest alternative here:** SE Visible, the same company's standalone tracker, with published prompt limits.

### AthenaHQ: credits, ten engines and an action layer

AthenaHQ is a platform that meters tracking in credits — one per AI response, five for heavier models — across all ten engines in this comparison, with outreach and content tools on top.

**Best for** teams that want broad engine coverage and the full action layer on one published plan. **Not for** buyers who need many daily prompts without a sales conversation.

**Coverage.** Starter lists ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI, plus Mistral. The free tier covers five. Starter tracks one country and language; Enterprise adds several, plus persona targeting.

**Method.** "Meta AI is reached through Meta's Model API rather than scraped from a country-local session... The same is true of claude and deepseek." The method for the other engines is not stated.

**Metrics and actions.** 8 of 9 metrics (AI-crawler logs not documented) and all 4 action-layer capabilities.

**Data access and compliance.** API, CSV, Looker Studio, Slack and MCP are documented; AthenaHQ says it has no warehouse export.

**Pricing (checked 3 October 2026).** Essential is free with 300 credits. Starter costs $295 a month ($245 billed annually) for 3,600 credits. Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral cost five credits per response. Scenario S fits Starter (about 653 credits); M needs about 22,800 credits and a sales quote.

**What we could not verify:** prices of extra credits and of API access on Starter, and whether free credits refresh.

**Closest alternative here:** Peec AI, which documents all nine metrics (AthenaHQ: eight) and all four action-layer capabilities; its $95 entry plan runs on three engines you choose, against ten on AthenaHQ's Starter.

### Brandlight: platform plus managed service, sold through a paid pilot

Brandlight sells AI-visibility measurement together with a managed service — a dedicated strategist, analyst and customer-success lead — through a paid three-month pilot followed by an annual contract.

**Best for** large, multi-brand and multi-market enterprises that want software together with a managed service team. **Not for** buyers who need a free trial, a list price or self-serve access.

**Coverage.** Brandlight names ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Claude, plus Naver and Kakao for Korea, and says it covers 13 engines; the remaining four are not named. Country, language and persona can be set.

**Method.** Its June 2026 study compared APIs with the consumer interfaces and closed: "Brandlight measures the channel your buyers actually see." We classify it as consumer-interface capture from this study; the product's collection pipeline is not documented.

**Metrics and actions.** 8 of 9 metrics (AI referral traffic not documented) and all 4 action-layer capabilities.

**Data access and compliance.** An API, SSO and SOC 2 are documented; exports, connectors and alerts are not.

**Pricing (checked 3 October 2026).** No list price or pricing page is published; Brandlight's blog posts describe a paid three-month pilot followed by an annual contract. Every Brandlight pricing and capability field in our dataset carries the vendor-claim label, because the claims come from blog posts and research pages rather than product documentation.

**What we could not verify:** pilot price, run frequency and the full engine list.

**Closest alternative here:** Profound, also enterprise-first and interface-based, with a published trial and agency route.

### Conductor: official APIs inside an enterprise SEO suite

Conductor tracks AI answers inside Conductor Intelligence, its enterprise SEO suite, and is one of three tools in this comparison that say they collect answers through official APIs.

**Best for** enterprise SEO and content teams that want AI visibility next to rank tracking, site monitoring and content tools, with SOC 2 and ISO 27001. **Not for** buyers who want consumer-interface capture or a list price.

**Coverage.** Nine engine options: ChatGPT (Auto), ChatGPT (Search), Claude, Gemini, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Grok, Copilot and Perplexity. Conductor says it does not track DeepSeek or Meta AI. Country, language and persona can be set.

**Method.** "We use official APIs provided by the AI search engines we support to get the content from responses [...]" Its pages add "where available", and do not explain how AI Overviews and AI Mode answers are obtained.

**Metrics and actions.** 7 of 9 metrics (position and accuracy flags not documented) and 3 of 4 action-layer capabilities (outreach not documented).

**Data access and compliance.** API and an MCP server are documented; CSV, Looker Studio, warehouse export, Slack and email alerts are not documented for AI-search data (results download as XLSX). SSO, SOC 2 and ISO 27001 are documented; white-label and EU residency are not.

**Pricing (checked 3 October 2026).** Essentials, Growth and Enterprise are listed without prices. Tracking is metered in AI Response Credits: 2,500 a year on Essentials and Growth, at 0.10 credits per AI Overviews answer up to 2.00 per ChatGPT Search or Gemini answer. A 3-week trial needs no card.

**What we could not verify:** any price, credit top-ups, and what the "ChatGPT (Crawl)" label in its docs means.

**Closest alternative here:** Semrush Enterprise AIO, another sales-only enterprise suite module (in the table).

### ZipTie: a configurator instead of tiers

ZipTie has no tiers: you build a plan from prompt slots, refresh cadence and engine count, and its public configurator prices 50 weekly prompts on three engines at an estimated $6.10 a month.

**Best for** small teams and agencies with many low-frequency prompts. **Not for** buyers who need white-label, SOC 2 or EU residency, which ZipTie says it does not offer.

**Coverage.** Up to seven engines: ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity, Copilot, Gemini and Bing AI Overview. ZipTie says it does not track Claude, Grok, DeepSeek or Meta AI. Country and language are set per project.

**Method.** "ziptie.ai captures each prompt from the live consumer products rather than a model API, scoped to the country and language you select, with no logged-in account history influencing the answer." ZipTie's privacy policy names BrightData and DataForSEO as the services that collect the answers.

**Metrics and actions.** 5 of 9 metrics (ZipTie says it does not report position; accuracy flags, AI-crawler logs and AI referral traffic not documented) and 2 of 4 action-layer capabilities (technical audits and outreach not documented).

**Data access and compliance.** API, CSV, MCP and an email digest of changes after scheduled checks are documented; ZipTie says it has no configurable alerts.

**Pricing (checked 3 October 2026).** A daily prompt slot costs $0.30 a month (weekly one-seventh, monthly one-thirtieth), multiplied by 2.85 for three engines and 6.1 for seven. The Starter preset is $42.75 (50 daily prompts, 3 engines); annual billing saves 20%. A 7-day trial needs no card. Scenario M is estimated at $202.50.

**What we could not verify:** whether checkout enforces a minimum spend. Its prices therefore carry an estimate badge and are left out of our ranges and medians.

**Closest alternative here:** SE Visible, which covers scenarios S and M from $99 a month.

### SE Visible: a $99 plan that covers both small setups

SE Visible is SE Ranking's standalone tracker. Its Basic plan, listed at "From $99" a month, checks 200 prompts daily on five engines.

**Best for** small teams that want daily tracking at a published monthly price. **Not for** agencies needing white-label, which SE Visible says it does not offer, or buyers needing Claude and Copilot, listed as coming.

**Coverage.** ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Mode and AI Overviews; a prompt counts once per location, whatever the engines. The help centre lists 42 countries; the marketing pages list 7.

**Method.** "SE Visible collects answers through a real browser session in each engine's user interface, the same place your buyers see them, instead of through an API." SE Ranking's terms of service (updated 25 June 2026) say SE Visible "operates through an external aggregator service (currently OpenRouter [...])"; we found no page that explains how this relates to the browser-session description.

**Metrics and actions.** 6 of 9 metrics (accuracy flags, AI-crawler logs and AI referral traffic not documented) and 2 of 4 action-layer capabilities (content generation and technical audits not documented).

**Data access and compliance.** API (beta), CSV, a Data Studio connector and a weekly email are documented; SSO, SOC 2 and EU residency are not.

**Pricing (checked 3 October 2026).** Basic costs $99 (200 prompts, 3 projects), Core $189 (450) and Plus $355 (1,000); annual billing saves 20%. Plus works out at $2.34 per 1,000 checks. A 10-day trial is offered.

**What we could not verify:** whether the trial needs a card, whether answers come from the browser or the aggregator, and what the "From" wording on its prices can scale with.

**Closest alternative here:** the SE Ranking AI Search Toolkit: the same engines inside the SEO suite.

## The other 23 tools in the comparison

The table covers 23 more tools with the same fields, in four groups.

**Native platforms under $100:** Gumshoe ($99, persona audits via provider APIs), Knowatoa ($59), LLMrefs ($79, one weekly plan, ten engines, scenario S included), Rankscale ($99, credits) and the Writesonic GEO platform ($99, with content tools).

**Native platforms from $100:** Trakkr ($100; $500 Scale with a white-label portal), Searchable ($125; it acquired Meridian on 21 September 2026), Goodie ($478.80), Gauge ($599, scenarios S and M on one plan), Evertune ($800 Pro) and Bluefish (sales only).

**Suite modules with published prices:** Frase ($49, only with the content platform), HubSpot AEO ($50; no AI Overviews), Mangools AI Search Watcher ($49; weekly; no Perplexity), Moz Pro AI Visibility ($99; weekly; no AI Overviews), Surfer AI Tracker ($95), Nightwatch AI Tracking (from €99), SISTRIX AI Visibility (from €119; Gemini not listed for prompt tracking in its current FAQ) and Authoritas AI Search (free plan; paid from $119).

**Enterprise suite modules sold only through sales:** BrightEdge AI Catalyst, seoClarity ArcAI, Semrush Enterprise AIO and Yext Scout, which prices mainly per location.

Done-for-you GEO agencies are out of scope: they sell an outcome, not a product with published limits. Free first-party reports are not in the table either, but are worth switching on first. Since June 2026 [Google Search Console](https://developers.google.com/search/blog/2026/06/gen-ai-performance-reports) reports your pages' impressions in AI Overviews and AI Mode, Bing Webmaster Tools reports citations in Copilot, and Microsoft Clarity reports AI citations by topic — your own site's appearances, not prompt-by-prompt brand monitoring.

## Who writes the "best AI visibility tools" lists?

We read the 28 "best AI visibility tools" roundups that ranked near the top across 16 web searches on 3 October 2026 (one US web search engine; queries on AI visibility, GEO, AEO, LLM-tracking and AI-search-monitoring tools, plus publisher-specific searches), opened every page that day and classified its publisher.

Twenty of the 28 were published by a vendor of a listed tool, a publication it owns or, in one case, an agency that shares a founder with one; five carried an affiliate or sponsored-content disclosure, two were independent and one was unclear. Most vendor lists put the publisher's own product first; three put it second or third.

This is a pattern of the category, not a failing of any publisher: vendors write the guides because buyers search for them. It matters because the AI engines draw on the same pages, as the next section shows. The full list is in the [appendix](#appendix-the-28-roundups-we-read).

## What do AI engines recommend when you ask them?

On 3 October 2026 we asked 10 buyer questions, from "What are the best AI visibility tracking tools?" to "Cheap GEO monitoring tool for a small business", and collected 100 answers. Sixty came from APIs (Claude Sonnet 5.5 with web search, Gemini 3.8 Flash with Google Search grounding and Perplexity Sonar, twice each), and 40 from the consumer interfaces of ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity, once each.

Leaving out answers to questions that named the tool, five tools appeared in more than two thirds of the answers (alphabetically: Ahrefs 68, Otterly.AI 80, Peec AI 75, Profound 74, Semrush 77), and two of the 35 appeared in none. These counts describe what the engines said on one day, not how good any tool is. The domains the engines cited or read most were the vendors' own sites and roundups: semrush.com in 41 answers, ahrefs.com in 32, otterly.ai in 28, blog.hubspot.com in 25 and tryprofound.com in 24 (counting the pages Claude consulted; cited links alone: 33, 27, 20, 19 and 16). Seven of the ten Google results pages also carried sponsored results, from advertisers including Peec AI, Profound, Semrush and Tracksuit; sponsored results are separate from the AI answers counted above.

The caveats are large. Ten questions on one day are a small, non-deterministic sample. The browser ran from Poland while most of our readers are in the US, and answers and ads depend on location. Copilot was not probed (it showed a sign-in wall), and ChatGPT had no API arm because our OpenAI account had no credit. Our [study of who LLMs cite for GEO](/measurement/who-llms-cite-for-geo) found the same vendor-heavy source pattern in June.

## Should you build your own tracker instead?

GeoSalience runs its own citation tracker, so we can describe DIY from the inside. It asks 50 fixed prompts once a month through four grounded APIs — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity — and records whether each answer cites or names us: 200 answer checks a month. It tracks no competitors, sentiment, position, countries, AI Overviews or AI Mode, and an API answer is not what a user sees in the app.

**What it costs (modelled, not billed).** Our tracker does not log token usage, so we modelled the cost from the 60 grounded API calls in the probe above: their measured tokens and searches, priced with the probe script's deliberately conservative unit prices, and Perplexity's own reported cost. The probe used Claude Sonnet 5.5 and Gemini 3.8 Flash; our tracker runs Claude Opus 4.8 and Gemini 2.5 Flash, so its billed cost can differ.

One answer check cost between about half a cent (Perplexity Sonar) and 19 cents (Claude with web search). For 150 checks a month on Claude, Gemini and Perplexity that is about $7.66 to $13.05 — $51 to $87 per 1,000 checks, four to seven times the median SaaS rate of $12.23. Claude with web search is about three quarters of it, because the search results it reads are billed as input.

**What it taught us.** From 1 August to 1 October 2026 our tracker recorded no ChatGPT data, because the prepaid OpenAI credit ran out. The runs kept producing results for the other three engines; on 1 October a per-engine check finally caught the gap and the run exited with an error, though it still recorded the other three. Three monthly ChatGPT data points are gone. A SaaS vendor absorbs that kind of failure; a DIY tracker needs someone watching the billing. [Our case study](/case-studies/geosalience-as-its-own-case-study) describes the rest of the setup.

## Eight questions to ask on a vendor demo

1. **What is one prompt?** Is it charged once per engine, per country, per persona or per run?
2. **How is each engine counted?** If I add an engine, does my prompt allowance shrink or my price rise?
3. **How often does each prompt run, and how many answers are sampled each time?**
4. **Do you capture the consumer interface or call an API — engine by engine?** Logged in or out, with web search on?
5. **Can I export everything?** Raw answers and cited URLs, by CSV, API or warehouse, on my plan?
6. **Which countries, languages and personas can I set, and does each one cost a prompt?**
7. **How long is history kept, and what happens to it if I downgrade or leave?**
8. **What are the overage rules, the minimum contract and the notice period?**

## How we researched this

**Selection.** The 35 came from our May 2026 lead list, market events since, the 28 roundups above, review sites and the engine probe; each had to be live, purchasable or trialable, tracking at least one generative engine, and documented.

The ten core reviews also needed published pricing or an enterprise offer, three or more engines and documentation of what is measured, and were picked by a presence score (one third each: roundup appearances, probe answers, G2 review volume on a log scale; tools whose G2 listing covers a whole suite or parent product, all suite modules and Writesonic, on the first two only) under portfolio rules: at least two tools under $100 a month, three from $100 to $499, two enterprise tools and two suite modules.

A second rule added the lowest scenario S estimate (ZipTie, from its public configurator) and the cheapest published fit for scenario M (SE Visible). The score measures presence, not quality, so we do not rank.

**Snapshot and evidence.** Every capability, price and method value comes from the vendor's own pages as read on 3 October 2026, kept as screenshots and text captures; ownership, funding and review counts come from third-party sources and are labelled as such. A Wayback Machine copy exists for 245 of the 520 pricing, method and engine source pages (174 captured on 3 October 2026) and is linked from the table where it does. We did not re-check vendor pages afterwards.

**Vocabulary.** Capabilities are yes, no (the vendor's own page shows them absent) or not documented, and "not documented" is never counted as no. Counts are documented capabilities, not scores.

**Not tested.** We did not measure whether any tool reports citations correctly; that needs a controlled benchmark.

**AI assistance.** Claude captured vendor pages, extracted fields, wrote the normalisation code and drafted this text. Three separate fact-check passes and a neutrality review checked every figure and claim against the captured evidence before publication.

**Conflicts of interest.** As of 3 October 2026 GeoSalience has no commercial relationship with any listed vendor, and no link on this page is an affiliate link. If that changes, it will be disclosed here and the method will not change.

**Corrections.** No vendor was contacted before publication; the page describes published offers, as our [editorial policy](/editorial-policy) sets out. Vendors can send corrections to [corrections@geosalience.com](mailto:corrections@geosalience.com); verified corrections are applied within 7 days and logged in the changelog below. See also our [methodology](/methodology) and [GEO methods taxonomy](/foundations/geo-methods-taxonomy).

## FAQ

### What is an AI visibility tool?

It sends a set of prompts to AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews on a schedule, records whether the answers mention or cite your brand, and reports metrics such as share of voice and sentiment. Some also recommend or create content.

### How much does AI visibility tracking cost?

For 50 prompts on three engines checked weekly, 17 of 35 tools publish a flat price from $50 to $599 a month, with a median of $129 (3 October 2026). No tool publishes a price for enterprise scale: 500 prompts on eight engines, daily, in three countries.

### Why do two AI visibility tools show different numbers for the same brand?

They ask different prompts, on different engines, through different surfaces. A tool that reads the consumer interface and one that calls an API can get different answers, and sampling and location settings differ too. Share of voice is computed over each tool's own prompts, so it is not comparable across tools.

### Do I need a separate tool if I already use Semrush or Ahrefs?

Not necessarily: Semrush sells its module from $99 a month per domain and Ahrefs custom prompts from $50 a month. Check the engines first: Semrush tracks your own prompts on three engines (ChatGPT Search, Google AI Mode, Gemini); Ahrefs custom prompts run on seven (ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, Claude).

### Which AI visibility tools track Google AI Mode?

Thirty of the 35 tools document Google AI Mode tracking, in some cases only as an add-on or on enterprise tiers. Three say they do not track it (Gumshoe, HubSpot AEO and Trakkr), and two do not say.

### Can I track AI visibility for free?

Partly. Four tools have a limited free plan, 25 offer a free trial, and Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools report your site's appearances in AI features at no cost. No free plan covers our 50-prompt weekly scenario.

## What to do next

**On a small budget:** turn on the free Search Console and Bing reports; write 30 to 50 prompts your buyers actually ask; trial two tools that cover scenario S and compare their numbers on the same prompts.

**At an agency:** filter the table for multi-client and white-label; price your real client count with the calculator; ask each vendor the eight demo questions before signing.

**In an enterprise:** shortlist by method, engines and compliance rather than price; ask for a quote on your scenario L and on the largest published plan as a reference; insist on raw-answer export.

"Vendor of a listed tool" includes publications owned by a vendor (Backlinko and Exploding Topics state that Semrush owns them) and one agency that shares a founder with a listed vendor. More measurement work: the [Measurement hub](/measurement) and [State of GEO, Q2 2026](/measurement/state-of-geo-q2-2026).
