GeoSalience collects as little personal data as a website can. This page states exactly what we process, why, and how to have it deleted.

Reading the site

Reading GeoSalience requires no account and sets no tracking cookies. We use a self-hosted, cookieless instance of Plausible Analytics served from our own infrastructure: it counts page views in aggregate and stores no persistent identifier, no cross-site profile, and no personal data. There are no advertising or social-media pixels, and no third party receives your traffic data.

Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) for security and capacity monitoring; they rotate automatically and are not used to profile readers. The public AI-crawler dataset on the Lab is derived from these logs with all IP addresses dropped at parse time — only aggregated bot activity is ever published.

The newsletter

Newsletter signup and delivery are currently disabled. We are not inviting subscriptions or sending a weekly briefing. If this changes, we will publish the active consent, processor and retention arrangements here before enabling the feature.

Everything else

We run no comment system, no login, and no embedded third-party widgets. Error monitoring, when enabled, is configured to exclude personal data. If our practices change, this page changes first. The application repository and its edit history are private. Public research evidence is linked from the Lab and individual articles; a private backup is separate from those public materials.
